Departing from Brisbane, we travel north past the Glasshouse Mountains to the Noosa River ferry and Cooloola Coast Beach (tides permitting). There will be photo opportunities of the Cherry Venture Ship Wreck and Rainbow Beach coloured sands before we cruise by ferry to Fraser Island. We will then 4WD across Fraser Island's 75 Mile Beach and return to Fraser Island Resort for a delicious lunch. Our next stop is to a World Heritage Rainforest before visiting Lake Mckenzie. Here there will be time to swim, take a hike and photograph these unique Lakes. Take the rainforest walk at central station along the boardwalk , to the rare giant King Fern. Explore Fraser Island on a two day 4WD adventure with your friendly eco-guides who have a passion for our natural treasurers and a wealth of knowledge to pass onto all our guests.Day 1 - (departure 6am Surfers - 7am Brisbane) Travelling north we pass the Glass House Mountains and Sunshine Coast before arriving at Rainbow Beach. From here we take the 4WD onto the beach to meet our ferry at Inskip Point, where a short ferry ride will take us to the southern tip of Fraser Island. We head for 75 Mile Beach and find ourselves a nice spot to enjoy a fresh picnic lunch. Travelling north up the eastern beach of Fraser Island we head for Eli Creek. Eli Creek is a fast flowing fresh water stream. Take the beautiful board walk to the top of the creek and let your self relax and float down this picturesque stream. Our next stop is Lake Wabby. We park our 4WD at the start of the 20 minute walking track, taking us through lush coastal heath and thick eucalypt forest which opens out to the deepest lake on Fraser Island, the famous Lake Wabby. The return walk takes us through the Hammerstone Sandblow. At the end of the day we travel to Eurong Beach Resort to check into our accommodation and enjoy a hot Buffet Dinner in the Resort Restaurant. Day 2 - With an early start for breakfast at 7.00am, we check out and get out on tour by 8.00am. We head to Central Station today to visit Fraser islands lush subtropical rainforests. We take a fantastic 1 hour walk along the clear flowing waters of Wanggoolba Creek and learn about Fraser Islands Timber History. Next we are off to Lake Birrabean, one of Fraser Islands Beautiful crystal clear lakes. We have plenty of time here to swim relax, sunbathe and have a buffet style lunch. After lunch we head through the forest roads back to the Southern end of Fraser Island. Mid afternoon we depart Rainbow beach to Head back to Brisbane, with the tour finishing around 6.00pm. Your tour starts as we collect you in our air conditioned Toyota Landcruiser, taking you to Redland Bay to meet the Island's ferry.After leaving Cleveland, as the ferry crosses Moreton Bay, spot whales in season, dugongs and dolphins, pelicans and sea eagles. Morning tea is served on the ferry. After arrival at Dunwich, the exciting four wheel drive component of the tour is exhilarating but safe, and the first sand track drive ends with guests enjoying a sweeping panorama of the coastal islands, distant Brisbane, the hinterlands and border mountains. The tour visits spring-fed lakes, teaming with bird life. Via 18 Mile Swamp, a gorgeous wetland of water lilies, to Main Beach, 24 kilometres of unspoilt white sand - a prime whale-watching spot from July to November each year. A popular stop near Point Lookout is the North Gorge Walk, a maintained track through native flora, filled with birdsong, to a rocky outcrop with views far out to sea, and south to New South Wales. Next stop is Flinder's Beach, to spend a relaxed hour and a half fishing (all equipment and bait provided), swimming or simply lunching. Lunch is a barbecue feast after which, guests are driven through a forest of Cyprus Pines to the bitumen road. The pleasant drive home winds past a tree-sheltered cove where local boats anchor, to meet the ferry at Dunwich for the return crossing. Our Tour starts with a luxury cruise aboard MiCat across beautiful Moreton Bay to Moreton Island. On arrival we board our 4WD and drive of the ferry directly on to the beach. Moreton Island is the worlds third largest sand island of which 98% is a protected National Park, with no sealed roads, 4WD is the only mode of transport!Our first activity is to get straight into sand boarding and tobogganing. This has to be done as early as possible in the day as summer temperatures get up to 36deg. This is awesome fun, high speed, high adrenalin! Moreton Bay Escapes provide both lie down toboggans as well as stand up boards. Next stop we cross the island to the Open Beach. We travel through thick eucalypt forest, featuring beautiful Zantharea (Grass Trees) up to 250 years old. The open beach is 38km long of uninterrupted surf beach. Boogy Boarding and body surfing is next! We are off to North Point and Honeymoon Bay's secluded beach with great safe surf beaches. After a picnic lunch we are off to Cape Moreton Lighthouse and Information centre. This imposing rock Headland is 80m above sea level and gives us commanding views across all of Moreton Island and the beautiful Glass House Mountains. Look out to sea and spot Dolphins, Turtles and Whales (June To October). Moreton Island is home to hundreds of different birds, featuring White Bellied Sea Eagles, Pied Oyster Catchers, Pelicans and thousands of wadding birds.
